Job Description

Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide advanced operational support and problem-solving capability for the Terminal. To act as Team Leader when required, including front line leadership activities e.g. managing performance and supporting the learning and development of the shift team.

Key Accountabilities/Objectives:
Advanced Troubleshooting

• Specialist level knowledge of the Terminal will enable trouble shooting of difficult, new and complex problems that arise from time to time.
• Participate in RCA's and learning circles related to operating problems.

Training

• You will be the go to person supporting the Zone Trainer and Team Leaders to develop new and improved training material.
• You will support the Team Leader by also giving training to the shifts up to and beyond the advanced level of knowledge, mentoring Learners, Interns and future SPT's.
• You will review, improve and align all shifts around operating procedure changes.

Project Design and Implementation

• Contribute to successful projects in the design phase by reviewing design proposals and in the implementation phase by assisting with commissioning, writing / reviewing procedures and training.

Area Focal Point during Major Maintenance Outages

• Take the role of an area focal point during outages, leading successful maintenance execution.

Assist with Field Management of Change

• Support the Team Leader and MSFP by assisting with oversight of plant changes and maintenance in the field, thereby also contributing to the efficiency of maintenance execution.
• Perform gas testing on shift.

Shift Duties

• Assume certain of the shifts supervisory performance management administration duties, thereby enabling the shift Team Leaders to become more effective, such as:

• Recording and reporting of shift performance KPI's.
• Executing on shift training including emergency response exercises and execution.
• Ensuring all incidents are reported and investigated as per existing processes.
• Checking field compliance with work permits during maintenance work, etc.
• Participate in RAPs.
• Issuing of Clearances and assuring compliance to SAPREF's PTW system.
• Managing staff according to the SAPREF code of conduct and initiating disciplinary processes when necessary.
• Supporting and executing all initiatives initiated by your line.
• Act as team leader in his absence.

Self-Development

• These appointments will support development towards team leader appointments, including interpersonal and supervisory skills training for front line leaders.
• Experience will be gained through opportunity to carry responsibility in the following associated functions:

• MSFP; Authorized Gas Tester; Operations Specialist; Zone Trainer; Team Leader & OMC.
• Previously mentioned projects development; administration for performance management; problem analysis and solving.

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications, Years of Work Experience:

• Area Specialist (SPT + Clearance Issuer + appointed to act as Team Leader).
