WORKSHOP MANAGER

Permanent | Macassar, Cape Town | Start Date: 01/03/2026

At Alveo Water, we deliver high-quality water and wastewater solutions through innovative production and engineering processes. We are seeking a Workshop Manager to lead our fabrication, mechanical, and assembly operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety in all workshop activities.

This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, hands-on production experience, and a passion for driving high-performing workshop teams.

Key Responsibilities

Report to the Production Manager and maintain clear communication and reporting

Lead and supervise Fabrication, Mechanical, and Assembly production teams

Deliver production output in line with daily, weekly, and monthly manufacturing plans

Manage production schedules, labour allocation, and workflow to meet deadlines

Oversee quality control and ensure products meet specifications and standards

Ensure preventative and corrective maintenance of all plant and workshop equipment

Monitor equipment performance and minimise downtime

Manage workshop documentation, including Job Cards, timesheets, and production records

Maintain and control the Asset Register and workshop equipment

Prioritise and manage equipment breakdowns to limit production delays

Enforce safety, housekeeping, and compliance with OHSA and ISO requirements

Control stock levels of materials, consumables, and tooling

Lead, train, and manage workshop staff performance and discipline

Track labour efficiency, production output, and rework against targets

Drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and cost control

Requirements / Minimum Qualifications

Proven experience in workshop management or production supervision

Strong knowledge of fabrication, mechanical assembly, and production processes

Experience in team leadership, scheduling, and resource management

Understanding of quality control, preventative maintenance, and safety compliance

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills

Ability to motivate teams and achieve production targets
