The position reports to the Welding Engineer, functionally.Department: PMEVacancy: Industrial Expert: Welding Specialist/Supervisor X3Purpose of the JobWelding Specialist/Supervisor assist welding operators during production activities (WPS, WPQR, mock-up, sub-assemblies, welding, welding control) for welding related activities in all areas where welding is taking place. In-line inspection before, during and after welding.Responsibilities:Check if all the documentation (instruction sheet, WPS, welderxe2x80x99s qualifications, xe2x80xa6) is available at the workstation and is the most relevant according to the baseline one (reference and edition).Audit/review if the welding processes are correctly followed in areas where welding is taking place.Check the welding to be performed is according to weld map and parameter list issued.Perform welding inspection on all stage of process of all components and where required assist IQ, report on all non-conformities observed to the Industrial Expert - Welding).Analyse issues observed during manufacturing and create action plans using tools like QRQC.Ensure consumable, tools, etc. used on the manufacturing process meet the requirements specified by Welding Engineer.Coaching and developing of welders in production, management of welders skills matrix to ensure welders are ready for job rotation.Ensure all welding machines are in good working conditions and liaise with relevant stakeholders.Work with PME and Industrial Expert - Welding on rework procedures and applicability thereof.Work with PME and Industrial Expert - Welding for rework procedures and latest revisionsTo take charge of newly recruited operators as mentor to ensure full autonomy is achieved on assigned workstation.Participate in workstation improvement studies, APSYS, SWIP, 5S and start and end of shift team meetings.Requirements:Matric.Recognised level C EN 14731 (EWP/IWS) or AWS CWS.Qualified Artisan welder (red seal) will be an added advantageWelding Inspector Level 1 (SAQCC) or any other formalized welding trainingISO 9712 NDT Level 1 or 2 qualification will be an added advantage, or equivalent qualification7 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a welding industrial method or in welding workshop.Practice the special process (arc and spot welding) from 3 to 5 years (execution, definition, qualification, etc.)Knowledge of AWS (D1.1, D1.3, D1.6, D17.2), EN/ISO welding standards (EN ISO 9606-1, EN 15085, ISO 3834) is an added advantageBehavioural Competencies:Independent, rigorous, good communication.Able to provide training or explanation to the workers and their managers.Innovative.Able to read, write and speak English.Flexibility with working hours.Team player.Time managementWelding specialistClosing Date 3 October 2023Alstom is the leading company in the mobility sector, solving the most interesting challenges for tomorrowxe2x80x99s mobility.
