Job Description

Our client in the steel industry, based in Durban, is searching for a Warehouse Floor Team Leader.
The successful incumbent, will possess the following:

Minimum Qualification

• Matric.
• A good record of previous experience in Warehouse
• Good level of literacy i.e. able to Read or write and convey the instructions to the teams as communicated by the Supervisor or Management
• License/Certificate to operate moving machinery utilized in the Warehouse i.e. Forklift and Crane License.

• Work closely with the Supervisor and Management to ensure effective Stock control.
• Coaching teams to ensure Quality control of material.
• Monitor and work with teams to ensure that all materials are clearly visible in all areas for easy access.
• Support the Supervisor in following up and assist with customer related queries.
• Escalate all Customer complaints to Supervisor and Management in an effective manner as per SOPs.
• Support Managers to conduct daily shift/green-area meetings before commencement of the shift.
• Ensure all delegated tasks to the general assistants in the Warehouse are executed accordingly.
• Support Supervisor to ensure that all the daily checks have been carried out by Warehouse Assistants.
• Take the lead in ensuring reasonable instructions to the Warehouse assistants are followed to do order preparation, racking and movement of stock.
• Be exemplary to follow good health and safety practice and procedures.
• Observe that all employees have proper safety wear at all times the correct tools to perform their duties effectively.
• Ensure that the teams comply with the processes/procedures of the warehouse and meets ISO requirements.
• All warehouse assistants within the team are licensed to operate the moving machines.
• Facilitate the monitoring of teams to ensure that the work-place is clean and tidy at all times.
