. This role requires effective management of a high-value stockholding and leadership of a large, unionised workforce to ensure operational excellence, compliance, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
Assist with developing and implementing stock control policies.
Supervise stock reconciliation, monitor variances, and investigate discrepancies.
Ensure efficient daily warehouse operations, stock counts, and shipment accuracy.
Implement controls to minimise stock losses and prevent theft.
Support inbound receiving, unpacking, checking, and distribution within set timeframes.
Oversee stock allocation, RFC (returns for credit) processing, and supplier returns.
Assist with staff scheduling, development, and floor discipline.
Monitor performance and ensure turnaround/lead times are met.
Supervision & Leadership
Provide leadership and guidance to warehouse teams.
Assist with performance reviews and goal-setting.
Ensure legal compliance with labour, safety, and warehouse regulations.
Support driver supervision, route planning, and vehicle maintenance.
Assist in overseeing branch security.
Ensure adherence to Gemba Board, policies, BSOP, and Health & Safety standards.
Requirements
Grade 12
(Matric) - minimum.
Tertiary qualification in warehousing/logistics (advantageous).
5+ years' warehouse experience in the automotive industry
(essential).
Prior
Warehouse Supervisor/Manager
experience required.
Strong understanding of warehouse operations, logistics, and relevant legislation (H&S Act, LRA, BCEA, EE, etc.).
Computer literacy, strong decision-making, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate professionally and work collaboratively with management.
Strong leadership capabilities with a hands-on approach.
