Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor
Industry: Manufacturing / Industrial Operations
Purpose of the Role
Responsible for the efficient day-to-day management of all receiving, storage, picking, and dispatch warehouse activities within a manufacturing environment. The role ensures optimal use of resources, adherence to logistics and materials performance targets, and effective coordination between warehouse operations, production, and internal stakeholders. Strong people leadership and operational discipline are key to success.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and monitor daily supplier deliveries, ensuring efficient movement of goods from the Receiving Bay into warehouse storage through effective scheduling of resources.
Identify and report any over- or under-supply of materials to the relevant buying or planning function.
Review daily customer delivery schedules and organise picking and staging of goods for dispatch from the Finished Goods area.
Use customer delivery progress reports and production delivery reports to drive accurate and on-time delivery scheduling.
Prioritise orders in line with customer due dates, delivery requirements, and operational constraints.
Proactively manage defective, incomplete, or delayed receipts, production outputs, or components to minimise customer impact.
Follow up with receiving teams and production supervisors regarding late deliveries and adjust schedules accordingly.
Ensure all outbound goods are correctly identified, documented, and loaded in accordance with SOPs prior to dispatch.
Ensure all dispatch documentation is completed and submitted to administration before shift end.
Monitor daily workload and plan appropriate shift coverage to consistently meet delivery targets.
Analyse shift handovers, receipts, picking reports, and production information to determine daily operational plans.
Accurately capture all stock movements and inventory transactions on the inventory control system before shift end.
Maintain compliance with internal processes, safety standards, and operational procedures.
Perform additional operational duties as required to support warehouse and logistics efficiency.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
Grade 12 or equivalent
National Diploma in Warehousing, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Proven experience specifically within warehousing and logistics operations
Skills & Systems:
Strong computer literacy with solid MS Office skills
Experience working on SAP or a similar inventory / warehouse management system
Strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced production-driven environment
Proven leadership capability with hands-on operational involvement
