Job Summary Waitron Job Title : Restaurant Waitron Location : Kuilsriver Reports to : Restaurant Manager Job Overview: A Waitron is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to diners by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a positive dining experience. The Waitron must be knowledgeable about the menu, attentive to customer needs, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor. Key Responsibilities: o Greeting Guests : Welcome guests warmly and escort them to their tables. Provide menus and introduce the restaurant's specialties or promotions. o Order Taking : Accurately take orders for food and beverages, ensuring any special requests or dietary requirements are noted. o Menu Knowledge : Be well-informed about the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens. Be able to make recommendations and answer questions confidently. o Food and Beverage Service : Serve food and drinks promptly and efficiently, ensuring that all items are delivered according to the order. o Customer Interaction : Regularly check on guests to ensure their dining experience is satisfactory. Address any issues or complaints promptly and professionally. o Table Maintenance : Clear plates, silverware, and glassware in a timely manner. Ensure tables are properly set and maintained throughout service. o Processing Payments : Present the bill to guests, process payments accurately, and return any change or receipts promptly. o Cleanliness : Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the restaurant, including the dining area, service stations, and restrooms. o Health & Safety : Follow all food safety regulations and hygiene standards. Ensure compliance with the restaurant's health and safety protocols. o Team Collaboration : Work closely with other waitrons, kitchen staff, and management to provide smooth and efficient service. Help in training new staff members when necessary. Qualifications: o Experience : Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment preferred but not required. On-the-job training may be provided. o Skills : o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure during busy periods. o Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. o Customer service-oriented with a positive attitude. o Basic math skills for processing orders and handling payments. o Physical Requirements : Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry trays, and move quickly throughout the restaurant. Work Schedule: o Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by the restaurant's schedule.
