The Waiter is responsible for delivering a warm, professional, and efficient dining experience to guests at Blaauwklippen Wine Estate. This role includes taking orders, serving food and beverages, promoting wine offerings, and ensuring service standards are consistently met in line with the estate's brand and hospitality values.
Minimum Requirements
Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
Previous waiting or hospitality experience (advantageous)
Strong customer service orientation
Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
Basic knowledge of food and beverages
Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment
Duties and Responsibilities
Guest Service & Experience
Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner
Present menus, explain dishes, and make recommendations
Take accurate food and beverage orders and capture them correctly on the POS system
Serve food and beverages timeously and to presentation standards
Ensure guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience and handle queries professionally
Food & Beverage Knowledge
Demonstrate good knowledge of the menu, daily specials, and wine list
Promote Blaauwklippen wines and upsell where appropriate
Understand basic food and wine pairing principles
Communicate guest preferences and dietary requirements to the kitchen
Operational Duties
Set up and clear tables according to service standards
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of service areas
Assist with opening and closing procedures
Process bills accurately and handle payments responsibly
Hygiene, Safety & Compliance
Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards
Follow all company policies and procedures
