Job Description

Main Duties / Key Responsibilities:

Greet customers and hand out menus.

Take meal and beverage orders from customers and place these orders in the kitchen.

Make menu recommendations and inform patrons of any specials.

Deliver meals and beverages to tables when they have been prepared.

Check that customers are satisfied with their meal. Offer black pepper.

Prepare the bill for tables when requested.

Cash up bills and ensure that the correct amount has been paid.

Ability to stand and work for long hours. You will work as per duty roster. Ability to remain calm and professional with difficult customers. Excellent interpersonal skills. Coordination to carry plates or trays without dropping anything. Setting tables according to the bookings made. Ensure that the table gets bread and sorbet. Ensure guests have cutlery before the meal arrives at the table. Accurate wine presentation. Ensure special occasion plates go out to the table. Make sure that no table ever feels rushed. Complete duty lists daily. Ensure cleanliness of the restaurant, tables, cutlery, crockery etc. Ensure that tip sheets are accurately filled in. Handle clients with utmost respect and friendliness. Excellent knowledge of the food and drinks menu. Hotel guests' protocol to be followed, included breakfast, billed to room, Slip at reception. Ensure all tables are correctly set before leaving shift.

Pay: R6000,00 - R10000,00 per month
