Job Description

Tekkie Town is seeking to employ a Visual Merchandise Specialist who will be responsible to develop and execute compelling visual merchandising strategies and directives across all retail stores, ensuring consistent brand presentation, enhancing the customer shopping experience, and ultimately driving sales and profitability through captivating product displays and store layouts

Strong eye for aesthetics, detail, and effective product presentation. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and train others. Excellent project management and organizational skills, able to manage multiple initiatives concurrently. Clear and concise verbal and written communication, able to provide instructions and feedback effectively. Ability to work well with store teams, marketing, and external suppliers. Ability to identify and resolve practical issues related to in-store VM execution. Effective in prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines in a dynamic retail environment. Flexible and able to adjust to changing priorities, store needs, and campaign requirements. Competent in using relevant software and digital communication tools.

Qualifications

Matric (National Senior Certificate) A Diploma or Certificate in Visual Merchandising, Retail Management, Fashion Design, Interior Design, or a related creative/retail field

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

5 years of progressive experience in visual merchandising within a retail environment 2-3 years in a leadership or senior role (e.g., VM Specialist, Senior VM, or Assistant VM Manager). Proven track record of successfully implementing visual merchandising strategies across multiple stores. Experience in leading and developing a visual merchandising team or training retail staff on visual merchandising standards. Demonstrable experience in managing visual merchandising projects from concept to execution, including budgeting. Strong understanding of visual merchandising principles, techniques, and best practices. Knowledge of retail store layouts, fixture types, and display solutions. In-depth knowledge of current and emerging design trends, colour theory, and lighting techniques. Knowledge of product storytelling and how to translate marketing messages into visual displays. Understanding of commercial drivers, sales analysis, and how VM impacts profitability. Basic knowledge of space planning and planogramming software/tools. Awareness of health and safety regulations pertinent to retail displays and installations. * Proficiency in Google platforms.
