Job Description

We are searching for a dynamic and experienced Visual Lead to join the Jacaranda FM Team. The successful incumbent will be based at and service Jacaranda FM, a division of Kagiso Media (Pty) Ltd.

The ideal candidatexe2x80x99s key responsibilities will be to Ccnceptualise, shoot and edit visual content in the necessary formats for the on-air and online product including, but not limited to, weekly vlogs, online documentaries, music videos, corporate videos, social media executions. Guiding managing and mentoring an existing video team.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelorxe2x80x99s Degree in Broadcast Journalism, Photography, Cinematography, Media Production, or related field, or equivalent experience and track record.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREA

Editorial.

• Servicing radio stationxe2x80x99s programming and editorial team.
• Produce quality visual content that entertains and engages audiences across platforms.
• Create purpose driven content.
• Produce and direct Jacaranda FM video promotions.
• Oversee storyboarding & scripting of stationxe2x80x99s video content.
• Assisting with originating briefs and following them.
• Story boarding, filming, assembling recorded raw material (camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics and special effects) and putting into a finished product suitable for broadcasting and publishing online.
• Assembling all raw footage, with audio and camera shots.
• Writing voiceover/commentary.
• Suggesting or selecting music.
• Publishing the content on necessary platforms in correct format.

Social Media

• Produce and edit online social media content.
• Suggest social media executions that drive growth and engagement.

General

• Equipment management and maintenance.
• Attend product meetings for department and provide creative input.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders throughout the production process.

Programming team participation

• Participate as a member of the programming team.
• Contribute positively to the Programming team and station.
• Work Shifts according to Shift Roster.
• Work closely with digital content team to assist with visual executions.
• Required to work on weekends in accordance to shift roster as required.
• Execute any tasks that may reasonably be expected.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Proficiency in Final Cut Pro, Adobe Elements.
• Minimum 5 years in producing and editing and directing video productions.
• Demonstrable proficiency in filming and editing, with a excellent technical knowledge of audio and lighting.
• Substantial digital knowledge and experience, with a track record of delivering excellent social media solutions.
• Minimum of 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in filming, editing and publishing on digital platforms.
• Must be versatile, adaptable, and able to multi-task, work fast and well under pressure; be a team player.
• Demonstrable visual aesthetic.

• Demonstrable ability to deliver on brief.
