Role Overview: The Utilities Management Administrator will take ownership of monthly billing processes, client reporting and maintain a high standard of professionalism in all aspects of the role.
Duties and Respnsibilities

  • Run monthly billing operations across our diverse portfolio of properties
  • Ensure a high standard of communication and accuracy in reports and interactions with clients
  • Provide support in the management of queries and council reconciliations
  • Monitor real-time usage data from energy to water via IoT platforms to detect trends, cost inefficiencies and anomalies for proactive intervention
  • Leverage dashboards and visualisation tools to provide clients with transparent, live visibility into their utility consumption, enabling informed decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, municipal billing processes and environmental standards
  • Assit your team with energy audits, EPCs and energy balance studies
  • Drive continuous improvement by staying updated on emerging technologies, industry best practices and operational efficiency
  • Maintain data sources and ensure data integrity and quality
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications
  • Diploma, Degree or relevant certification in the utilities management industry
  • Tertiary education may be replaced by relevant and strong experience in industry
  • Additional certifications in sustainability, energy management or IoT/digital systems will be advantageous
  • Strong written and verbal communication essential
Experience
  • Minimum 57 years in utilities management, operations, or facilities management
  • Strong track record managing municipal accounts
  • Experience with IoT platforms, utilities monitoring systems or smart metering technologies highly advantageous
  • Prior exposure to solar energy, O&M services or sustainability projects is a plus
Skills and Competencies
  • Excellent analytical abilities, comfortable working in data-driven, IoT-enabled environments
  • Proficiency with reporting dashboards, monitoring tools and Excel for performance analysis
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, municipal processes and compliance standards in South Africa
  • Excellent client-facing communication and relationship-building abilities, with the ability to simplify technical issues for non-technical stakeholders
