Job Summary

To identify, build and manage relationships with stakeholders, CIDs, government and communities, to build communities and public spaces in and around the Company properties and to develop and manage the tenant social impact programs and the Company Foundation.

Strategic Planning and Operational Management

To contribute to the organisational strategy development by understanding the key strategic priorities and providing inputs annually

To develop Urban and community liaison operational plan by interpreting the strategy, understanding the urban and community liaison requirements, developing the operational plan and submitting for approval annually

To manage urban management and community liaison performance by tracking performance against agreed indicators, influencing the broader business to contribute to urban management and community liaison projects and initiatives, identifying areas for improvement, implementing corrective action and reporting on performance and initiatives monthly and as required To manage lease compliance by reviewing relevant legislation, evaluating changes and impact on leases, consulting with legal advisors (if required), recommending amendments and implementing by deadline 2. Stakeholder Relationship Management

To develop the stakeholder map by understanding key relationships, identifying key role players, securing and capturing stakeholder details and maintaining details monthly and as required

To build relationships with key stakeholders by securing meetings, presenting the Company offerings and contributions, communicating Company requirements and growing the understanding of Company as a corporate citizen monthly and as required

To represent Company in stakeholder forums by participating in forums, presenting Company's contributions and requirements, sitting on Boards, addressing issues and building solutions and approaches monthly and as required

To build relationships with spheres of government by participating in forums, presenting Company's contributions and requirements, addressing issues and building solutions and approaches monthly and as required

To build relationships in the community by engaging with community leaders, listening to their needs, addressing issues with them and supporting the development of mutually beneficial arrangements monthly and as required

CID Management

To contribute to CIDs by acting as a board member, supporting governance, monitoring performance, profitability and membership growth, troubleshooting issues and developing collaborative solutions monthly and as required

To monitor CID impacts by conducting building and area visits, assessing livability of the areas, identifying areas of concern, raising concerns as part of the CID, influencing programmes to improve livability, tracking impact and reporting on progress monthly

To scope and manage special projects to build CID profile by identify project opportunities, developing project scope, developing project plans and budget, manage implementation of projects and track impact of project in line with anticipated contributions to the CID as required.

To manage relationships with CID management agencies by understanding the nature and purpose of the relationships, developing relationships with key decision makers and partners, providing Company feedback and inputs and addressing any areas of concern monthly and as required

Community Development

To develop the community development plan by conducting needs analyses, understanding tenant and community issues, developing a community development plan and submitting for approval annually

To develop communities in the Company buildings by understanding their needs, developing programmes, procuring and appointing service providers, tracking impact of programmes and evaluating appropriateness monthly and as required

Public Space Improvement and Place Making

To develop a public space improvement and place making plan by identifying community needs and areas that require improvement to support community development in the Company portfolio, developing a plan and budget and submitting for approval annually

To manage public space infrastructure improvement projects by developing project plans, managing contractor performance against the project deadlines, identifying areas of concern, implementing corrective action and reporting on project progress monthly and as required

To manage regulatory approvals by identify approvals required, tracking regulatory approval processes, identifying bottlenecks and supporting resolution as required

To implement public space improvements by engaging with key stakeholders and partners, securing commitment to upgrade concepts and funding, coordinating implementation of the upgrade plans, identifying challenges and addressing monthly and as required

To support safe and clean precincts by engaging with relevant local government, private sector and development organisations, contributing to initiatives to clean and secure the precincts and troubleshooting cleaning and safety challenges monthly and as required 5. Fundraising

To develop project fundraising plan by identifying initiatives, developing the plan and budget for the initiatives and submitting for approval annually and as required

To raise funds for projects and initiatives by preparing and presenting proposals as required

To draft funder reports by understanding reporting requirements, sourcing, collating and analyzing information and drafting and presenting reports as required 5. Financial Management

To develop budgets by understanding operational requirements, drafting budget and submitting for approval annually and as required

To manage expenditure by tracking spend against budget, reviewing and approving costs, identifying areas of under or over spend and implementing corrective action monthly and as required

Minimum Experience and Qualification

NQF 7 in Community Development,

Urban Planning, Town Planning or similar is required
