Job Description
As a Skilled Upholsterer, you will be responsible for assembling and upholstering furniture pieces to meet quality and design standards. This role requires precision, a strong work ethic, and experience using hand and power tools in a production environment.
Responsibilities:
Read and interpret work instructions and design specifications Prepare and inspect materials including fabric, foam, and frames Apply padding, foam, and batting to furniture frames Stretch, align, and attach fabric or leather with staples or tacks Ensure patterns are matched and fabric is taut and neat Perform final quality checks and ensure products meet standards Maintain a clean and safe work area Use tools such as staple guns, hammers, scissors, and pneumatic equipment Collaborate with team members and communicate with supervisors
Qualifications:
5+ year experience in upholstery (required) Ability to read and follow detailed instructions and drawings Skilled in using upholstery tools and machinery Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship Good physical condition - able to lift and move heavy materials Team player with good communication skills High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) Vocational training in upholstery or related fields (advantageous)
