Underground Miner
Job Description
Job Summary Key Responsibilities o Safely manage day-to-day mining activities to meet production targets. o Ensure strict compliance with all Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) regulations and company procedures. o Conduct statutory inspections, including gas and ventilation tests. o Perform risk assessments and ensure all team members use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). o Operate and maintain mining equipment correctly. o Manage and provide guidance to the mining crew, identifying training needs as required. Requirements o Grade 12 or equivalent qualification. o Valid Blasting Certificate obtained through the Chamber of Mines (CMTC). o Valid Red Ticket (medical certificate of fitness) or ability to obtain one. o Minimum of 20 years of relevant underground mining experience. o Sound knowledge of underground mining processes and safety standards. o Strong leadership and communication skills.
