We are a US based company with strong South African roots. Our business started in Joburg in 2005 and later moved to the USA. We are now building out our engineering office's in Cape Town (Century City) and Joburg (Greenstone Hill) to support our US operations and customers.

Overview

As a UI/UX Developer, you will work on developing and maintaining the user interfaces that power our platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize solutions using modern technologies. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineers to grow their skills in a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

UI Design: Design visually appealing and intuitive interface elements such as menus, tabs, widgets, buttons, and navigation components, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines. Front-End Development: Translate UI/UX designs into code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Testing and Iteration: Test UI elements (e.g., CTAs, page layouts) for usability, responsiveness, and performance, iterating based on user feedback and analytics User Research and Analysis: Conduct user research, gather feedback, and analyze user needs to inform design decisions. This includes creating user personas, journey maps, and conducting usability testing. Wireframing and Prototyping: Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or InVision to visualize design concepts. Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure designs are feasible, meet business goals, and are implemented accurately.

Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills: o Design Tools: Proficiency in tools like Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision, Axure, or Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).
o Coding Skills: Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is often required, with familiarity in frameworks like React, Angular, or Tailwind CSS being a plus.

o Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to present designs, gather feedback, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

o Problem-Solving: Ability to identify UX issues (e.g., usability, responsiveness) and develop effective solution.

o Empathy: Understanding user needs and designing user-centered solutions.

o Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

o Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to new tools, technologies, and evolving project requirements.

Educational Background:

o A bachelor's degree or equivalent

Experience:
o 2+ years of relevant experience

o A portfolio showcasing professional or personal projects

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to R45000,00 per month
