RESTAURANT MANAGER - GEORGE
Short Summary: 
 
To provide active management and leadership for all day-to-day operations and the ensure that best practices are consistently carried out to achieve the highest levels of service at all times.
 
General Duties:
 
Managing of customer relations by maintaining and improving standards to ensure the highest level of customer service.
Opening and closing of the restaurant.
Ensuring that the highest kitchen standards are maintained with regards to recipes, ingredients and food quality.
Stock control, weekly stock orders and full  management of food and beverage section of the restaurant including keeping operating costs to a minimum whilst not affecting standards.
Conducting periodic operating equipment and inventory counts.
Ensuring that all internal and control processes are adhered to.
Management of events & functions.
Full responsibility for cash verification, reconciliation and accounting for on a daily basis.
Safeguard and appropriate maintain company assets.
Assist with maintenance and upkeep of the restaurant.
 
Human Resources:
Preparations of staff rosters and ensuring that cost effective rosters are prepared without compromising on customer service.
Management of Health, Safety and Hygiene.
Conduct staff management sessions and disciplinary hearings as required.
Induction and training of all staff.
Ensuring that all staff are appropriately trained in terms of the restaurant menu and food terminology.
 
 
 
Key Competencies
Qualifications:
Grade 12 (qualification in restaurant / food & beverage management will be an advantage)
Computer literate – good excel knowledge
Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English)
Working Knowledge of Labour Legislation and basic knowledge of South African Labour Law
Experience:
At least 5 years’ experience in a managerial position within the industry.

Customer service orientated
Tolerance for stress
