A retail and wholesale company in Epping Cape Town is looking for an experience Transport Supervisor with 5 years experience within distribution environment.

Must have matric or NQF4 equivalent

Valid drivers license and PDP

5 years experience in warehouse distribution environment

2 years working experience as a supervisor

Experienced in route planning for deliveries

Duties includes:

Co-ordinating drivers / vehicles / loads and routes to maximize efficiency and cost saving. Manage transport scheduling on DC bookings and IBTs, taking into account product mix / volume in order to optimize fleet capacity and reduce transport costs. Checking, loading, and dispatching of all outbound orders - Daily deliveries/IBTs/DC orders. Liaise with picking department to ensure that all daily and dc orders are picked on time for dispatching. Liaise with picking department to ensure all transfers are picked on time for IBTs. Ensure goods are delivered in good condition, in full and on time. Developing and confirming schedules with the Sales Department. Understanding transport capacity requirement and market dynamics in relation to BU requirements. Maintain SOPs for all logistics and distribution activities. Manage and minimize fuel expense. Implement and maintain Health and Safety standards in all transport activities. Vehicle registration and COF. Vehicle maintenance and general upkeep. Ensure drivers obey the rules of the road and other safety requirements. Daily and weekly Time and Attendance system updates. Generate OT reports and timesheets for temp employees.
