Our client based in new germany is looking for a Transport clerk.Transport Clerk
Essential requirements
xc2xb7 Grade 12
xc2xb7 Freight qualification is advantageous
xc2xb7 Shipshape or similar knowledge
xc2xb7 3 years industry experienceKey Role
- On going negotiations with the Transporter to ensure best buying rates
- Co- Ordinating and scheduling transporters
- Reconciling transporters invoices
- Planning of breakbulk, FCL and sufficient notice to clients/ warehouse
- Planning of all deliveries and cold store deliveries and updating clients/ cold store
- Monitor container storage and demurrage.
- Place client on notice should there be any additional charges applicable.
- Ensure the additional charges are invoiced out to the client.
- Constant communication with customers by phone, email and Whatsapp- after hours and weekends included
- All shipping files/ systems are properly endorsed with buying and selling rates for all transport movements
- Checking ETAs
- Identify overweight cargo and able to calculate weights correctly
- Check value of cargo and able to identify additional insurance cover that may be required
- Able to identify what special equipment will be required for deliveries
- Keep record of cargo in storage for final delivery
- Handling queries
- General office duties
- Strong negotiation skills, problem solving
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to work weekends and after hours as required
- Long service staff awards
