This unique opportunity is with a very long-established, one-of-a-kind type operation. It will take time to develop candidates to the needed level of expertise hence there needs to be a genuine interest in being developed into this career path. Please ensure you give careful consideration and meet the following profile before you apply -

• As per the job title the working hours are also unique - 5.00am to 1.00pm / 5.30am to 1.20pm. Realistically you will need to have the transport and not live too far from City Deep to meet the working hours.
• You need to be proficient in your English and communication skills.
• As mentioned above it will take time to be trained into this one-of-a-kind role and therefore essential that there is genuine long-term interest
• You would need to be physical fit and prepared to be on your feet a fair amount of time and use a bit of physical strength at times to pick up items.
• Preferably a non-smoker
• Minimum education is Matric / Grade 12
• Accurate, numerate, methodical and attention to detail
• The ability to deal with and communicate effectively with people
• Disposition and potential to handle pressure and deal with stressful situations in time
• Potential to work independently
• Reliable and committed

The following profile will give you an understanding of the purpose and duties are for an experienced Sales Auctioneer -
Purpose: To attend to all aspects / processes relating to this specialist type of operation i.e., grading flowers into the various quality categories, auctioning of flowers as well as various administrative functions in order to ensure that the selling process take place in the most efficient and effective manner and in accordance with determined quality standards.
Key performance areas -

• Perform day to day selling of flowers on the Auction via the computrized system
• Accurate grading of flowers into various quality categories
• Assisting customers with any queries
• Balancing of sales against delivery notes
• Attend to any corrections required and ensure that debit/ credit adjustments are completed for processing
