Toolmaker Engineering ~ Manufacturing
Port Elizabeth - Eastern Cape - South Africa
You will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and improvement of all tooling, jigs, moulds, and fixtures to ensure production reliability and adherence to quality standards. This is a hands-on role that requires precision, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to compliance and safety. Applicants must currently reside in the Eastern Cape.
Qualifications & Experience

Matric (NQF 4).
Trade Test: Toolmaker (NQF 5).
Minimum 3 years technical/toolmaking experience in a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience with toolroom machinery (lathes, mills, etc.).
CNC exposure is advantageous.

Skills & Competencies

Computer literacy (MS Office; SAP/ERP systems).
Knowledge of maintenance methodologies and SOPs.
Customer-focused with a commitment to quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacture, maintain, and repair tooling, jigs, moulds, and fixtures to support production.
Perform planned preventative maintenance and attend to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
Support commissioning and trials of new project tooling.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement engineering modifications.
Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality standards.
Maintain accurate tooling records, spares usage, and reporting documentation.
Provide support and training to apprentices and production staff.
Uphold cost-control measures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
