Our client is looking for Registered Nurses (RN) / Professional Nurses (PN) with proven THEATRE SCRUB experience that specialised in Ophthalmic Nursing to work in a Day Clinic. This is an opportunity to work part-time shifts for at a private day hospital in Bloemfontein in Free State.

Requirements

• Must be available IMMEDIATELY
• Valid SANC licence
• At least 3 years previous work experience as an Ophthalmic Nursing is essential
• Post-basic Diploma/Certificate in Ophthalmic Nursing is essential
• Competent in the demonstration and assessment of relevant clinical procedures and management of risks
• A good understanding and application of the nursing scope of practice
• Knowledge of clinical procedures, relevant nursing legislation, the Scientific Nursing Process and BCA bundles
• Sound knowledge and application of relevant Theatre and CSSD policies and procedures
• Management of surgical equipment and instruments
• Infection prevention and control (IPC) principles and protocols
• Risk Management

Key Outputs
: Deliver safe, comprehensive and quality peri-operative nursing care according to Scope of Practice. * Deliver quality peri-operative nursing care in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team

• Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment
• Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions
• Create a learning environment that builds staff competence
• Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged
• Ophthalmic Nursing duties and responsibilities
