Test Analyst

Designing and executing manual and automated test cases, analysing test results, and reporting defects

Duties and Responsibilities

• Test Design: Develop test cases that cover different test scenarios to ensure the software meets business and user needs.
• Test Execution: Execute test cases manually, observe and document results, and report defects.
• Defect Management: Track, prioritize, and communicate defects to developers, following up on their resolution.
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Facilitate UAT with end-users to validate that the software meets their requirements.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test summary reports.
• Regression Testing: Perform regression testing to ensure that new features or bug fixes do not adversely impact existing functionalities.
• Domain Knowledge: Gain in-depth knowledge of the domain or industry the software serves to understand user perspectives better.up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software testing

• Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex requirements and translate them into test cases.
• Communication: Effective communication with stakeholders, developers, and fellow testers to convey findings and collaborate on improvements.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in executing test cases and identifying defects.
• User Focus: Keep the end-users' perspective in mind to ensure the software meets their needs and expectations.
• Adaptability: Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adjust testing strategies based on changing requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in software testing.
• Experience with software testing methodologies, including manual and automated testing
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#
• Experience with test management tools such as HP ALM, JIRA, or Quality Centre
• Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as SOX, GDPR, and HIPA
