MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

Research, identify, and apply new, or refine existing, products, services and solution technologies to deliver and/or enhance business innovation initiatives/projects that result in offering innovative, relevant and commercialisable products, services and solutions

The intent is to rapidly incubate and commercialise new capabilities and offerings to respond to changing healthcare needs and diversify sources of future growth for the Company

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Provide technological insight and expertise to identify, develop and implement innovation development stream projects that lead to viable business models and commercialisable products/services
• Manage and monitor a portfolio of innovation pipeline projects that result in commercialisable new revenue streams
• Build and maintain mutual beneficial relationships with relevant stakeholders, specific to own domain and project
• Ensure compliance with project governance requirements and continuous quality improvement principles
• Take responsibility for any other operational / ad hoc task, as requested by management

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

• Masters degree in Innovation, Health Science, Science or equivalent advanced degree; or
• Degree in Innovation, Health Science, Science or equivalent degree with relevant experience.

DESIRED EDUCATION

• Post graduate degree in Innovation, Design and/ or Strategy
• Healthcare qualification

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

• 7+ years proven experience with progressive responsibility in assessing and deploying state-of-the-art technologies in logistics, operations, supply chain, healthcare and wellbeing related fields.
• 3+ years proven experience in building business cases and designing roadmaps for new products, services, technologies and solutions.
• 7 years experience in applying/translating technology for potential business impact; creating technology platforms for new business development
• 7+ years of specific experience in innovation and product and service management
• Experience in leading highly complex initiatives from conception to commercialisation
• Ability to work in uncertain, ambiguous, fast-changing market environments
• Experience working with global teams or in a global environment
• Fluent mother-tongue level English

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Ability to influence and persuade others to a new or different perspective through use of compelling data and insights
• Ability to rapidly comprehend and apply the benefit that new technologies and platforms can have on our present and future business
• Business modelling, business strategy, product and service development, innovation and technology management or business transformation in a phygital context
• Elements of the 4 IR
• Experience with the running of innovation management suites
• Expert in using design principles to tackle innovation challenges
• In-depth knowledge of and experience in either the SA, Swiss or European healthcare systems and/ or UAE healthcare systems
• Innovation governance
• Knowledge of country-specific healthcare regulatory requirements in the operating divisions
• MS Office Suite, rapid prototyping tools, web & design suite (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite)
• Process Engineering
• Project management skills; ability to handle multiple initiatives
• Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
• Strong understanding of and experience in innovation best practices
• Systems thinking with understanding of the interactions and interdependencies of business information and events on the operational level
• Technology innovation trends forecasting and roadmapping
