Job Description

Manage the strategic alignment of all Technology Assets (Hardware, Software, Mobile Devices)



Design and implement enterprise-wide frameworks for Technology Asset Management and Mobile Device Management. Conduct comprehensive needs analysis to identify the optimal mix of assets aligned to business and operational goals. Establish a software asset management framework including license tracking, budgeting, compliance monitoring, and renewal scheduling. Collaborate with vendors to shape and operationalise a holistic technology asset and mobility strategy. Forecast and manage the asset lifecycle, including refresh cycles, renewals, upgrades, and decommissioning of assets. Design and manage the Technology Asset Management and Mobile Device Management (MDM) frameworks for Craft a roadmap for a Technology Asset Replacement Programme with associated costs and benefits of new models Formulate benchmarks for testing new Technology Assets and Mobile Devices in line with SBV Architecture approved standards and SBV operating model



Develop and implement policies and procedures relating to Technology Assets and Mobile Device Management




Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures related to hardware, software, and mobile device lifecycle management. Establish onboarding and offboarding processes, including secure provisioning, de-provisioning, and asset tracking. Implement governance controls for invoice reconciliation, license audits, and asset disposal. Enforce standards for software usage, including installation, version control, and compliance with licensing terms. Responsible for reviewing, supporting, and communicating of all documentation relating to Technology asset management.



Financial planning, cost optimisation & renewal Management




Manage and report on the Capex and Opex budgets for asset acquisition, renewals, and replacements. Oversee software license renewals, subscription management, and cost-benefit analyses for licensing models. Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across hardware, software, and mobile platforms. Partner with Finance to validate invoicing, cost allocations, and SLA penalties or recoveries.



Manage and Control IT Hardware Assets, Software and Mobile Devices




Maintain a centralised, accurate, and auditable Asset Register covering hardware, software, and mobile assets. Define technical specifications in alignment with industry and internal standards. Monitor operational deployment of assets, ensuring compatibility with SBV architecture and business models. Ensure only approved applications and software are installed; manage exceptions through governance forums. Manage SDLC-related changes and align them with asset strategy and lifecycle. Facilitate timely disposals, asset movements, and reconciliations against Finance master data. Lead physical and logical asset verification processes. Compile technical specifications using templates and standards as set by Management & Industry and align the team with these outputs Conduct a full assessment of departmental Technology Asset and Mobile Device allocation and usage across SBV, identify gaps and recommend corrective action where necessary



Review, analyse and report on IT Hardware Assets and Mobile Device management data




Conduct monthly reviews of asset usage, license consumption, and cost trends. Analyse mobile usage, verify billing, and manage data consumption controls. Monitor and report on vendor performance, contract adherence, and SLA compliance. Identify discrepancies, risks, or non-compliance and escalate through structured reporting channels. Deliver consolidated reporting to General Manager and senior stakeholders, including trends, issues, and recommendations. Report on technology Asset and Mobile Management care on a quarterly basis, submitting to the GM, centre management and the department with recommendations and corrective actions.



Create and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships



Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors to optimise value and service delivery. Negotiate contracts, renewals, and licensing agreements with a view to risk, cost, and performance. Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Procurement, Finance, and IT Security to ensure alignment and compliance. Address escalated queries, drive issue resolution, and ensure continuity of support services. Monitor compliance of SLA's between SBV and the relevant equipment service providers, escalating non-compliance and providing corrective action plans where necessary. Review contracts with vendors with specific reference to Technology asset, software and mobile device management prior to submission to the procurement team



Drive the organisation leadership and culture



Promote a culture of accountability, service excellence, and compliance within the Technology division. Champion organisational transformation initiatives, including B-BBEE and change management programmes. Lead the implementation of new tools, systems, and processes to support asset transparency and efficiency. Serve as an ambassador for operational excellence and continuous improvement. Lead and develop a high-performing team responsible for asset and software management. Manage workforce planning, performance, and talent development in collaboration with HR. Implement training plans to ensure team readiness in line with evolving technologies and practices. Oversee team compliance with Health & Safety, Time and Attendance, and employment policies Drive employee engagement and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.


Work Experience




5 years Technology support experience, of which; + 2 years' administrative and operational exposure to procedures, processes and systems
+ 3 years' experience in managing and controlling Asset and software Management, including supplier management, annual price negotiations and ITIL aligned asset management

Education




Matric Relevant IT diploma/ degree IT Asset Management qualification (Advantageous) ITIL certificate v3 minimum (Advantageous)

Advanced Excel and PowerPoint certification Own transport Microsoft Access (Advantageous) * Dashboarding
