Job Description

Responsibilities:
Serve as a technical liaison between customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to grow and optimize a diverse portfolio of specialty and commodity raw materials across various industries/markets.
Utilize technical expertise to inform market strategies, foster stakeholder engagement, and translate customer needs into actionable solutions that contribute to business development.
Provide in-depth technical product training and training materials on the application, handling, and performance of chemical products.
Assist customers and internal teams with product selection based on technical requirements and industry standards to drive service excellence.
Support customer trials, testing, and product qualification processes.
Monitor industry trends, customer needs, optimal pricing for profitability and technological developments to identify new opportunities to develop and aid in executing strategic sales plans, ensuring consistent revenue growth.
Collaborate with the commercial and procurement teams in evaluating new suppliers and introduction of new raw materials.
Participate in product development or localisation initiatives based on customer feedback.
Address technical complaints and lead investigations into product quality or performance issues.
Ensure all products comply with applicable local and international chemical safety and quality regulations.
Assist in SDS (Safety Data Sheet) reviews, product registrations, and regulatory documentation.
Support internal audits and quality control processes related to chemical handling and distribution.
Requirements:
A deep understanding of chemical compounds and their industrial applications.
Strong knowledge of the market, competitors, and emerging trends.
Project management.
Financial acumen.
Understanding in sales fundamentals, techniques ethical practices, and best practices.
BSc in Food Science, National Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or human nutrition related field.
Familiarity with chemical safety standards, including REACH, GHS, and local legislation (e.g., SAPMA, SANS).
5-7 years of experience in a technical role within the Human Nutrition Industry.
Preferably with exposure to sales or customer-facing environments.
Must be able to travel when required.
