ESSENTIALS
BSc Hons/MSc Microbiology/Biochemistry/Biotech/related + at least 3 yrs experience in pharmaceuticals & biopharmaceuticals lab / production applications. Previous sales experience. Excellent communication skills (English). Strong determination to succeed & ability to conduct high-level presentations to various audiences. OWN CAR, drivers license, VALID PASSPORT + willing to travel into Sub-Saharan Africa.

DETAILS
An established SA distributor of high-quality imported Lab Instruments & Consumables is recruiting for a Technical Sales representative to join their expanding Export Sales department to oversee the pharmaceuticals & biopharmaceuticals portfolio, (including bioprocessing instrumentation). The role will be office-based (when in SA) and will include travel to visit customers in Africa, specific to the fields of pharmaceutical & biopharma production (research, industry application & large-scale manufacture). The purpose of the position is to grow the existing portfolio by proactively developing new business, meeting with customers, networking & generating leads, & implementing strategic sales and marketing plans. The role is well supported by a dynamic export sales team, and support staff (incl. product managers, application specialists & field service engineers).
This company holds licenses for product-lines applied in the Biotech, Chemical; & Health Science industries in SA and various markets on the African continent, including Zimbabwe, Uganda, Malawi, Ghana and some East African countries.
REQUIREMENTS

• BSc Hons OR MSc in Micro/Biochem/Biotech, or related discipline
• 3 yrs work experience in pharmaceuticals & biopharmaceuticals applications
• Sales experience in the Science industry, preferably into Africa
• Highly skilled in communications and presentations in English
• Excellent sales and negotiation skills
• Independent worker with highly developed people skills
• Code 08 Drivers license & OWN CAR
• VALID PASSPORT + willing to travel out of SA frequently
