This is not your typical sales role. Your mechanical expertise will be your biggest asset as you bridge the gap between engineering precision and client needs. The company is a well-established player in the coal mining sector, now expanding into broader mining and heavy industry markets.
You'll work closely with engineers, plant managers, and procurement teams, offering fit-for-purpose gear solutions -- from complex gearboxes to custom-manufactured drive systems. If you love solving mechanical challenges and turning client problems into powerful engineered solutions, this role is for you.
Education:
- BTech or Bachelor of Technology in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)
- Minimum 3 years in technical sales, application engineering, or gear manufacturing
- Deep understanding of gearboxes, precision gears, or mechanical power transmission
- Strong exposure to mining or industrial processing environments
- Ability to interpret technical specs and propose custom mechanical solutions
- Comfortable presenting to clients and closing technical sales
- Proficient in MS Office, engineering documentation, and CRM tools
- Based in Gauteng with ability to travel for client site visits
- Clear communicator -- English required; French/Portuguese advantageous
