Job Description

Overview:

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of medium to large sized, medium to high complexity projects which including technical support.


Responsibilities:

Operationalise (Pre-Go Live, Go Live and Post Go Live)"



Responsible for execution and communication of Deployment Plan (Pre-Go live, Go Live and Post Go live tasks). Responsible for arranging training for production teams to allow them to support the product / project after go-live. Responsible for arranging training for operators to allow them to use the product after go-live. Responsible for engaging and communicating with external stakeholders. Responsible for ensuring resourcing availability for go live monitoring and troubleshooting.

Process Improvement



Continuously evaluates processes. Assists with the implementation, documentation and communication of processes improvement initiatives.

Continuous Improvement



Responsible for proactively following up on improvements identified during Lessons Learned. Responsible for researching new ways of working and recommending delivery efficiency improvements. Accountable for defining and implementing project management best practice. Accountable for implementing project management knowledge sharing. Responsible for facilitating and implementing project and process improvements and efficiencies.

Initiation and Planning



Accountable for end-to-end project planning and a Project Management Plan - including plans for Scope, Communication, Risk & Issues, Cost and Stakeholder Management. Responsible for the Charter and defining and agreeing the high-level scope, milestones and initial risks early in the project. Responsible for defining the Project Benefits, Measurements and Critical Success Factors in the Charter. Responsible for defining roles and responsibilities for the project team and stakeholders (RACI) in the Charter. Responsible for setting up the Project Governance and Systems to effectively manage the project. Accountable for creating, implementing and maintaining the Project Schedule and obtaining approval from relevant stakeholders.

Problem reviews



Investigating and responding to development queries. This would include ensuring appropriate communication to external stakeholders whilst protecting technical intellectual property. Problem investigation, replication, classification and/or providing (IP sensitive) potential solutions. Investigation, verification and providing technical feedback for live issues. Technical analysis of impacted software system/s and providing potential solutions. Establish business impact through technical analysis.

Coaching and Mentoring



Formally mentor and coach other Technical/Project Manager's or Project Coordinators Provides timely feedback and guidance to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skills areas needed to accomplish task or solve a problem

Strategic Planning



Responsible for working with Business Units to define and prioritise roadmaps. Responsible for assisting Business Units with Roadmaps as required. Responsible for impact assessing and prioritising roadmap changes in collaboration with Business Units. Responsible for keeping roadmaps up to date after changes and communicating as appropriate. Responsible for ensuring that Project Objectives and Critical Success Factors are aligned to Business Unit Strategies.

Executing, Monitoring and Controlling



Accountable for proactively tracking the end-to-end project schedule and driving corrective action where required. Accountable for stakeholder management regarding the project. Responsible for proactively managing risks, issues and dependencies on the project. Responsible for proactively managing change - including Time, Cost and Scope changes. Responsible for executing on the Project Communication Plan and ensuring the relevant stakeholders are kept informed. Responsible for tracking project decisions made on the project. Responsible for monitoring costs on the project, as required by the Business Unit. Responsible for supporting Product Owner in quality product delivery. Accountable for project status reporting as defined in a Communication Plan or as required by the Business Unit.

Deployment preparation




Conducting releases (Games, Playcheck and back office).


Update game configuration (when necessary).

Environment Maintenance



Handle environment reprovisions and take full responsibility for Environment Maintenance and configuration (if applicable). Environment troubleshooting/analysis. Conducting installations (Games, Playcheck and back office).

Benefits Realisation



Responsible for assisting Business Units in getting any required benefits monitoring and reporting in place. Responsible for actively tracking and measuring Project Benefits, including Critical Success Factors.

Project Closure



Accountable for measuring the delivery of project objectives and benefits, including Critical Success Factors as defined in the Charter. Responsible for facilitating Lessons Learned sessions and collating all the feedback. Responsible for prioritising improvements from Lessons Learned and ensuring action owners are assigned and informed. Responsible for driving improvements by following up with action owners from the Lessons Learned. Accountable for following the appropriate process for closing the project. Accountable for communicating project closure to all stakeholders.

Qualifications:
PMP Certification/ OR Equivalent

Experience:



4 - 5 years Project Management experience with 1-year technical experience OR 4 - 5 years relevant experience in a software or IT environment and 1 year project management experience
