Job Description


Job Summary and Responsibilities

Providing detailed technical support to the dealer network in South Africa and Sub-Sahara via DISS / remote diagnosis.
Repairing vehicles returned to the TSC for advanced diagnosis.
Acting as technical expert for complex product complaints in the field
Coordinating the development of field solutions for all locally experienced product problems reported through the Dealerships using the DISS system.
Liaising and advising the dealer organization in action formulation and decision making on the resolution of problems pertaining to technical matters reported to Group.
Evaluating Group technical service information provided through ELSA and SOST and AFT training workshops. Ensure all information relevant to the products in the SA market is made timeously available to ensure the most effective diagnostic capability exists in the dealer network.
Developing local service literature, maintenance and repair instructions for all unique South African conditions and specification changes on imported and locally manufactured vehicles.
Monitoring the AQUA / FIT-CHECK reporting as part of the Fault Eliminating Fault (FEP) and the STLI process
Analyzing all engineering changes for relevance to existing service information and affect the necessary changes where applicable.
Monitoring effectiveness of existing diagnostic and repair instructions in the field and ensure corrective action is immediately taken where technical problems occur.
Minimizing cost of operations, including warranty and goodwill, by ensuring timeous and effective service diagnostic information is developed and implemented.
Providing feedback to Group on the effectiveness of Concern service information and FBU products used in the South African market and identify technical deficiencies with detailed problem description and corrective actions.

Education and Experience

NN Diploma /National Diploma in Electrical Engineering / BSc Electronics / Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent degree.
Minimum 3 years postgraduate work experience related to mechanical, electrical fault finding and development of technical solutions.
Fault finding and component failure analysis experience
Dealer workshop experience

Skills, Attributes & Other requirements

ESSENTIAL:

Automotive product support exposure
Must have a thorough Product Knowledge
Must have proven problem-solving skills.
Able to work under pressure, and be prepared to travel at very short notice
Good communication skills and must be able to communicate at all levels.
Ability to read and interpret German technical drawings and documents.

PREFERRED:

Master Technician certification/ Qualified Motor Mechanic with workshop experience
Thorough knowledge of the Group systems xe2x80x93 Elsa,ETKA,DISS,SAGA
Speak, read German
