A well-established engineering company specialising in Earthing and Lighting Protection equipment, situated in Johannesburg North, requires the above to head up the Operations and Production of the company.

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Technical qualification with a management or related qualification.
• Minimum 5-7 yearsxe2x80x99 manufacturing/ operations/production experience is essential.
• Previous working experience within the metal/ copper plating/ specialised welding industries servicing the telecommunications/ earthing and lightning installers/ electrical suppliers and related industries is essential.
• Must be computer literate with advanced working knowledge of MS Office.
• Previous experience using ACCPAC is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Must have strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of SABS Standards an advantage.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Overseeing the preparation and production of materials to meet daily/weekly orders.
• Managing the distribution, tracking and maintenance of daily production records.
• Supervising and directing staff members of the production floor as well as distributing labour within and between lines to meet daily production requirements.
• Training, coaching, disciplining and working alongside production employees.
• Conducting daily production meetings as well as participating in production decisions concerning new product lines.
• Determining product costs and resource needs by using product specifications and release dates.
• Establishing and maintaining the production schedule.
• Overseeing production-related communication flow and coordination between all resources committed to each product.
• Managing and enforcing company safety protocols.
