Job Summary A unique opportunity awaits a dedicated Technical Officer with expertise in Wind or Solar PV. As part of a global energy leader making strides in the responsible growth model to tackle energy transition challenges, you'll join a dynamic team based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Your responsibilities will span across the technical aspects of projects in various stages, including interfacing with consultants, technology providers, and suppliers. You'll leverage your experience to improve bid competitiveness, ensure technical quality for efficient and sustainable asset construction, operation, and maintenance, and lead the choice of technologies, configurations, and performance parameters. RESPONSIBILITIES Head technical components of projects at all stages, improving bid competitiveness, and assuring the technical quality for sustainable construction and maintenance. Direct the choice of technologies, technical configurations, and set necessary performance and safety requirements. Contribute to and negotiate owner specifications, while aligning with the latest group standards. Assess technical risks and provide professional reports during the project approval process. Offer ad-hoc support and advice to operational assets and construction projects. xc3x82 xc3x82 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS BSc/BEng degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of experience in Solar PV or Wind projects. Understanding of HV/MV/LV electrical systems and grid connection practices. Knowledge of various development models (greenfield, brownfield, acquisitions, etc.) and familiarity with industry practices. Proven communication and multitasking skills, able to manage remote teams and project cycles.
