Job Summary

TECHNICAL METALLURGIST - KRUGERSDORP

:

• As a Metallurgical Technical Engineer, you will be responsible to control the plant within the technical specifications/parameters defined. Ensure technical audit of the plant is conducted to required standards. Provide technical support to Senior Metallurgist and production manager of plant operations. Ensure that recommendations as to plant improvement are considered in the xe2x80x9cspecifications/parametersxe2x80x9d review process. In this position, attention to details is a must.

Additional responsibilities will include:

• Assist in ensuring that Safety, health and environment are complied with in the plant
• Implementation of the technical standards and procedures in the operations
• Ensure that technical standards are met and maintained in the operations
• Audit compliance to xe2x80x9cspecifications/parametersxe2x80x9d and liaise with plant personnel
• Identify ongoing potential areas for plant process improvement
• Ongoing technical support to plant production team to achieve operational goals

• Provide detailed analyses of process control/plant performance relationships
• Co-ordinate metal accounting, accuracy, reporting, and metal monitoring
• Monitor production performance metrics and analyse data to identify trends and opportunity for process optimization.
• Conduct research and analysis to identify areas of improvement in production processes and develop solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Assist to ensure a stable and sustainable plant performance within the metallurgical plant

This role is a technical support and reports to the Senior Metallurgist.

Qualifications

• B Eng. Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering or similar
• Post graduate qualification will be advantageous

Skills and experience:

• 5 years or more extensive post qualification experience in technical management of extractive metallurgy of gold processes or development projects
• Experience with metallurgical smelting of gold and AMD will be advantageous
• Valid driving license code B or EB
• Metallurgical process and plant operating skills;

• Strong supervisory and leadership qualities;
• Strong technical problem-solving skills;
• Planning, coordination and prioritizing skills;
• Emergency response and crisis management;
• Computer literacy;
• Report writing skills;
• Good written and verbal communication to interact with stakeholders
