Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Technical Lead for our L1 Server Support team, specializing in Backup and Operating Systems (B&OS). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing first-line technical support for server operating systems and backup solutions, resolving basic technical issues, and escalating more complex problems to the L2 team. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior to mid-level IT professional to develop their skills in a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead a team of L1 Server Support engineers, providing initial guidance and acting as a point of contact for the team.

Provide first-line support for server-related issues, including user account management, and basic troubleshooting of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and backup software.

Monitor server and backup system alerts, and take initial action to resolve or escalate as appropriate.

Perform routine daily checks and maintenance tasks on servers and backup systems.

Assist with the installation and configuration of new servers and software.

Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all support activities.

Escalate unresolved issues to the L2 and L3 support teams in a timely manner.

Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all support tasks.

Qualifications and Experience

A certificate or diploma in Information Technology or a related field.

Some experience in an IT support or helpdesk role is preferred.

Basic understanding of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).

Familiarity with backup concepts and software is an advantage.

Good problem-solving and communication skills.

A strong desire to learn and develop new technical skills.
