Job Description

A global pharmaceutical company has a vacancy for a Technical Finance Analyst to lead the statutory, technical and controls processes.
Main Duties and Responsibilities are:
Financial Reporting, Processes & Analysis

  • Group reporting uploads (Tagetik) and reconciliations to other financial systems
  • Trial balance ownership
  • Consolidations
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Intangible assets amortisation schedule maintenance, valuations, goodwill, impairment calculations
  • Provide guidance on complex transactions (e.g. IFRS 16, IFRS 9, revenue recognition).
  • Fixed assets reporting, ownership and maintenance
  • Monthly Balance sheet recons
  • Capex management and budgeting
  • Annual financial statements preparation management
  • Vendor payments
Tax Related Matters:
  • All SARS related calculations, submissions, reporting and compliance
  • Maintaining users on e-filing
  • Dealing with e-filing queries/issues
  • Investigating complex tax/SARS related requirements
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with operational finance and other business units
  • Translate technical financial data into actionable business insights
  • Support on BEE related matters from a finance perspective
  • Assist Senior Finance Manager on complex issues relating to business development
Audits and Internal Controls:
  • Lead and coordinate with internal and external audit processes
  • Internal Controls and process optimisation in line with Global Framework
  • Improvements within Business Dynamics/SAP to ensure data integrity in line with IFRS compliance or automation of the system
  • Maintain a strong control environment
  • Assist with Risk Register maintenance and risk identification
Financial Systems & Process Optimization
  • Drive system improvements and automation of routine tasks in the Technical Finance area
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives
Ad hoc Projects:
  • Ad hoc projects or initiatives in line with business initiatives
Compliance:
  • Compliance: Ensure that all compliance elements are effectively implemented and adhered to.
  • Forwarding of all received Product Quality Complaints, Adverse Events and Medical Enquiries to the relevant person in Quality Assurance/ Pharmacovigilance/ Medical Affairs.
  • Completion of all assigned training within the specified timelines.
Qualifying Requirements are:
  • CA(SA)
  • Minimum 3 years post articles experience is preferred
  • Overall strong IFRS knowledge, strong financial modelling, excellent excel skills
  • Experience with Power BI and Business Central would be advantageous
  • Team management
