Duties:
The ideal candidate will have solid IFRS reporting experience and strong technical knowledge of IFRS. Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing IFRS technical guidance for group projects.
  • Ensuring the group complies with IFRS standards and assisting with the implementation of new standards or amendments that impact the organisation.
  • Reviewing group financial statements for compliance with IFRS.
  • Assisting with the implementation of IFRS 17, including:
  • Providing technical guidance on the application of IFRS 17 across the group.
  • Supporting the finalisation, implementation, and testing of IFRS 17 financial reporting processes.
  • Assisting in the development and finalisation of IFRS 17-compliant financial statements and management reports.
  • Developing and delivering communication and training to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaising with internal and external assurance providers to ensure assurance on IFRS 17 compliance.
  • Preparing communication for stakeholders, including shareholders and analysts, regarding IFRS 17.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Minimum 2 years' post-articles experience in an advisory role.
  • Completed CA(SA) qualification or equivalent
Experience:
  • Strong knowledge and experience in IFRS, including IFRS 17 and other recent amendments.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements for compliance with IFRS.
  • Exposure to complex accounting transactions and financial reporting processes
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and application of IFRS standards.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial information and provide guidance.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new standards and processes.
  • Integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information.
