PURPOSE



This position exists to oversee the execution of the deposition plan by effectively planning activities, organising resources, delegating tasks , leading personnel and managing risks and deviations to ensure the successful achievement of the deposition objectives.





RESPONSIBILITIES



Planning


Select the appropriate equipment for each task. Ensure sufficient stock levels are maintained. Confirm that emergency equipment is available and in good condition. Deploy the workforce effectively.

Execute Tailings Dam Activities


Dress the walls. Construct catwalk and platforms. Operate catchment paddock penstocks. Clean solution trenches. Monitor the flow of underdrains. Measure and control slurry densities. Monitor water depth, inlet flow at penstock, pond, and bypass system. Complete the daily log and shift report. Complete the safety declaration.

Leading


Train, coach, and motivate team members. Communicate effectively with staff and supervisors. Ensure employees are aware of hazards and risks. Apply fair and consistent disciplinary measures when necessary. Address employees' grievances. Promptly and professionally.

Control his/her Team


Monitor staff performance. Manage employees' time sheets and attendance records. Ensure equipment are used correctly and stored properly. Enforce compliance with written safe work procedures. Report and record all incidents accurately. Maintain a positive industrial relation (IR) climate.


QUALIFICATIONS


Grade 12. Skills Program in Slimes Reclamation or Tailings Dam Operation.

EXPERIENCE




Minimum of 2 years' experience as a General Worker.

Effective communication skills. Knowledge of financial and cost management. Strong time management skills. * Ability to understand and interpret written instructions.
