About the team:
The team consists of three areas: investment restrictions maintenance in order management system, pre- trade rule analysis and post trade incident analysis.
The role will involve frequent and close liaison with stakeholders of all levels, in both front and middle office environments, and requires a candidate who is committed to teamwork and a can-do attitude.
The role of the Investment Guideline Management team is to ensure that we do not breach our clients mandate and regulatory guidelines. The team plays a major role in the investment process.
The purpose of this role is to strengthen the Investment Guidelines Management (IGM) team by adding a specialist who combines guideline coding expertise with technical skills in data analysis, automation, and process improvement. The role will enhance guideline oversight while reducing manual effort, improving data quality, and embedding smarter ways of working.
In this role you will:
+ Interpret client investment mandates and accurately code restrictions into compliance platforms (e.g. Aladdin, Charles River, Sentinel).
+ Develop and maintain scripts/queries (SQL, Python) to validate guideline coding, monitor exception trends, and improve data quality.
+ Identify manual processes within guideline management and implement automation solutions (e.g. Python scripts, Alteryx, Power Automate, UiPath).
+ Analyse operational and client data to highlight recurring issues, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver process improvements.
+ Partner with technology teams and external vendors to co-design enhancements to coding platforms, workflows, and data integrations.
+ Provide subject matter expertise on guidelines, coding logic, and controls, supporting both BAU activity and project delivery.
+ Collaborate with Client Services, Compliance, and Portfolio Managers to ensure guideline implementation reflects mandate intent.
You should consider applying if you have:
+ Degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
+ 5 years + relevant experience within an Asset Management company
+ CFA or IMC desirable but not essential.
+ Certifications in SQL, Python, or automation platforms advantageous
+ Hands-on experience coding and testing investment guidelines in a compliance platform (Aladdin, Charles River, Sentinel, Bloomberg Compliance Manager (CMGR) or equivalent).
+ Understanding of financial instruments (equities, fixed income, derivatives) and associated compliance restrictions.
+ Familiarity with security master, benchmark, and client mandate data sets.
+ Proficiency in SQL (data validation, joins, exception reporting).
+ Working knowledge of Python for data manipulation, automation, and workflow optimisation.
+ Experience with automation/ETL tools (e.g. Alteryx, UiPath, Power Automate) is advantageous.
+ Advanced Excel skills, ideally with VBA/Power Query
