Job Title: Tax Consultant

Salary Range: R 24,500 to R 28,000

Below is a detailed description of the position
Proficiency in Efiling:

• Ability to submit ITR12 returns.
• Understanding of ITA34 (assessment) for additional assessments issued by SARS.
• Capability to handle SARS objections and appeals.
• Competence in preparing tax clearance certificates and foreign investment tax clearances.
• Knowledge of the new process for transferring an Efiling profile.
• Monitoring of SARS turnaround times with necessary escalation, complaints, and involvement of the tax ombud when required.
• Familiarity with procedures to follow when errors occur on a return.

Skill

• Conducting calculations on Wintax and comprehending these calculations.
• Ability to clearly explain to clients why a refund amount may be less than expected.
• Expertise in calculating Provisional Tax and obtaining the necessary documentation.
• Knowledge of reasons for delays in SARS paying a client's refund, along with problem-solving skills to resolve these issues.
• Commitment to staying updated on changes related to SARS Efiling.
• Capability to manage all inquiries and appointments with SARS.
• Maintaining a friendly and patient demeanor with clients at all times.
• Upholding a positive attitude.
• Providing clients with well-informed advice and requesting necessary documents promptly.
• Ability to meet clients in-person from time to time.
• Competence in administrative tasks.
• Genuine interest in tax work

Proficiency in using Pastel:

• Ability to work up to trial balance.
• Ability to generate and understand VAT reports.
