Nova Pioneer is looking for a stellar Talent Coordinator to assist with the administration of day-to-day operations of the HR and Recruitment functions and duties. This role is based in Johannesburg, South Africa. While the role is focused on South African talent operations, you will engage and collaborate with talent teammates from Kenya on a regular basis as well.

About the role:
As the Talent Coordinator, you are responsible for providing effective and efficient human resource generalist functions to the organisation, aligned with organisational strategic goals.
Responsibilities include:
General HR Activities:
  • Maintain up to date records of employee ("teammate") data and documentation on the HR system (Payspace), these include; personal information, job information, compliance details, benefit details, etc.
  • Ensure that all new teammates have correct Payspace access and are assigned to the relevant policies.
  • Maintain up to date compliance data (ie; SACE, Qualifications, Sexual Offenders and Child Protection Clearance, Work Permits, etc)
  • Support the enrollment of new teammates onto company benefits such as medical, pension by issuing forms and applications, verifying information and addressing questions.
  • Support the onboarding/offboarding admin process of all new hires and exits, this involves informing the relevant teams, creating and sending documents and updating details on Payspace.
  • Providing support to teammates going on Maternity leave by scheduling maternity check ins, providing guidance on the maternity leave process based on the policy and creating and sending the relevant maternity documents.
  • Provide required HR admin support to all teammates; confirmation of employment, updating details, etc.
  • Protect the organisation's value by keeping sensitive employee information and matters strictly confidential.
  • You will be required to support the management of the Talent inbox by responding to queries from teammates and pointing them in the right direction
Labour Law & Compliance:
  • Manage and maintain compliance requirements and ensure that up to date and accurate compliance data is readily available to leadership and for audits and inspections
  • Comply with regional legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; in partnership with the HR Manager; keeping up to speed with changes to employment law and anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications and maintaining personal networks.
Recruitment:
  • Support the recruitment of great talent in South Africa
  • Manage incoming applications and conduct first-round resume review for hiring managers.
  • Ensure that a rigorous process is followed to ensure that candidates undergo a thorough vetting process focused on Qualifications, SACE and Work Permits, References, etc.
  • Support all administrative and internal systems related activities within the recruitment and HR processes using our Applicant Tracking System.
  • Ensure that all candidates enjoy a positive, engaging and inspiring experience throughout the recruitment process, whether they are successful in the role or not.
  • Support and coordinate aspects of the hiring process in collaboration with hiring managers including regular communication and updates on the status of roles with key stakeholders.
  • Support innovative strategies for researching and cultivating international and local pools of talent and individual prospects;
  • Support in facilitating onboarding sessions across both regions.
  • Support in standardizing job descriptions and job adverts across the region
Working within the Talent and People Systems Team:
  • The Talent Coordinator forms part of the Talent and People Systems team which comprises HR, Recruitment, Talent Development and People Systems and Analytics. We pride ourselves on being Greater Together and support our team when needed.

About You:
Skills, experiences and qualifications required:
  • You are able to work independently on projects and work streams with the necessary support from your manager.

  • You have strong administrative and time management skills
  • You hold yourself and others to high standards and take pride in the accuracy of your work
  • You have 2-3 years experience managing HR and Recruitment matters and deep familiarity with South African labour law and practice.Previous experience in a school environment would be an advantage but is not compulsory.
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or other relevant qualification to HR
  • You are a strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to develop systems that achieve efficiency and scalability
  • You have strong communication and conflict resolution skills
  • You care for people, their experience and their development
