Car rental company Europcar va rental is seeking a customer-oriented, deadline-driven individual who thrives on working in a fast-paced environment to join their team based at the Pomona as a Supervisor: Maintenance & Workshop. The Supervisor: Maintenance & Workshop oversees all activities in the maintenance & workshop environment; ensuring that the team functions effectively in delivering high levels of customer service and fulfilling vehicle safety, quality control, risk management, and claims procedures. It is a role that demands high levels of resilience in carrying out the duties of the position and operating with a smile in Pomona depot which often throws a variety of challenges

Position Overview




To coordinate, plan, deliver and supervise daily team tasks in the office and workshop environments and the execution of standard operating procedures, resulting in the achievement of quality and service standards, agreed daily and weekly operating targets, and effective cost and productivity management.

Specific Role Responsibilities






Plan, coordinate, supervise and deliver own and team activities to ensure that agreed standards and operational objectives are met for the maintenance and the workshop. Supervise office and workshop employees in relation to time and attendance, productivity, quality, team cohesion and escalate matters not resolved at supervisory level. Assist the team with the identification and resolution of problems and provide solutions that lead to improved operational service delivery and quality. Ensure the continued maintenance and effective functioning of the workshop and other relevant equipment. Ensure that work is completed in adherence to organisationally approved Health and Safety requirements and standards. Identify financial risks and escalate immediately. Report any inefficiencies to the immediate superior to take corrective measurements. Make recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations. Ensure customer satisfaction regarding quality of service, information and support provided by a team under supervision. Adhere to all audit requirements as per OEM/Importers and organisation standards. Identify and apply known solutions to operational challenges and escalate unresolved issues. Record and report on work activities to provide timely and accurate information for decision making around accountability. Continuously monitor actual process turnaround times, quality standards and resolve issues speedily in accordance with company/OEM/Importer standards, to meet and exceed CSI objectives. Supervise daily tasks and performance of team members. Sending vehicles for services and repairs. Managing the movement and turnaround time of out-of-service vehicles at branch.

Qualifications and Experience



Minimum Experience

3 years of relevant fleet management experience within a similar environment (including at a supervisory/team lead level).



Minimum Qualification

Grade 12

Preferred Qualification

Relevant tertiary qualification at NQF5+ such as Fleet Management.

Minimum Requirements

Unendorsed valid driver's license Computer literate, including an intermediate level of competency with Excel and Outlook. Working knowledge of Basic Conditions of Employment (BCEA).
