Job Description
A leading multi-disciplinary consulting firm with global reach and local expertise is seeking a Strategic Technical Advisor to join their Water Team. This isn't your typical "send CVs and hope for the best" role - we're looking for someone who's seen it all, done most of it, and still has the energy to mentor the next generation while building the business.
You'll be the bridge between water and closure teams, hunt down business opportunities, and basically be the go-to person when things get technically complex. Oh, and you'll need to travel across Africa - hope you like airports.
WHAT YOU'VE PROBABLY ALREADY GOT:
Scientific Masters or PhD because you're that kind of overachiever
20+ years in environmental/water fields and survived the industry changes
10+ years consulting experience so you know where the bodies are buried
Professional scientist registration
Government agency experience and lived to tell the tale
Africa experience outside SA with bonus points for interesting border crossing stories
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Building relationships, reviewing projects, developing proposals, mentoring staff, staying on top of ever-changing legislation, and generally being the person everyone comes to when they need things done properly.
