Job Description
Starke Ayres is the foremost African specialist and global supplier of premium vegetable, flower and lawn seed varieties - both for commercial and home garden planting.
The following position has become available for a Picker Packer, based in Gqeberha, Purpose: To pick stock and make up customer orders as per customer invoice and prepare same for dispatch as per customer requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Picks products and makes up orders as per customer order and transfers them to the holding area for checking. Ensures that correct seed reference numbers are picked and report all incorrect reference numbers to the Stock Controller. Advises Stock Controller if certain items are out of stock and awaits further instructions. Ensures that all items picked are in a clean and saleable condition and meet laid down quality standards with regard to packaging, labelling, outer appearance and neatness. Follows stock rotation procedure, FIFO (first in first out), as per Stock Controller instructions when picking order. Assists with the bi-annual as well as ad hoc stock counts/checks as per Stock Controller instruction. Assists fellow workers with execution of tasks whenever own responsibilities have been executed and completed. Ensures that work area/s are neat, tidy, organised and clean at all times. Assists with and adheres to security measures to ensure the safety of products, assets and facility. Assist with the Invoicing of Customer Orders Assist walk in Customers with Product Information
REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12 (essential) Warehousing Diploma / Certificate (ideal) * 2 Years General Worker (essential)
