An exciting career opportunity exists for someone to perform a critical role within our Insights and Analytics Team at Santam Client Solutions, reporting to the Manager: Insights & Analytics.

The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the Insights and Analytics team by implementing technical solutions that will Increase autonomy (from a data & reporting perspective); Reduce operational burden generated from the production and distribution of reports & Improve accuracy, accessibility, frequency, and quality of data for the Client Solutions business. This involves designing, developing, and maintaining solutions that uses data extracted from various data sources. A keen eye for detail, passion for innovation; ability to operate independently and thinking outside the box is a requirement for success in this team.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and augment Qlik applications based on business requirements,
• Collaborate with business to assess solution requirements,
• Provide input on proposing, evaluating and selecting appropriate design alternatives which meet client requirements and are consistent with client's current standards and processes,
• Ensure integrity and delivery of data as it moves through systems,
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using various BI tools,
• Provide technical support and training to end-users,
• Estimate the effort involved to perform project tasks (per specification)
• Ensure compliance to IM policies and procedures,
• Perform data investigations and document findings,
• Simplify data models and present to business
• Implement various data modeling, visualization and reporting techniques using Qlik Sense and PowerBi

Skills and Experience

• 3 - 5 years of experience developing BI applications (Qlik and/or PowerBi). Experience in both applications will be a distinct advantage.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, data warehousing, and data visualization concepts
• Experience in Extracting, Transforming and Loading (ETL) techniques
• Short-term insurance experience will be advantageous,
• Working knowledge of the Atlassian Suite of products (e.g. JIRA, Confluence) would be advantageous
• Knowledge of Agile methods, e.g. Kanban, SCRUM
• Demonstrated experience in handling large datasets and relational databases with proven SQL skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Be able to work independently as well as with a team,
• Experience in handling multiple dashboard development and meeting client deadlines
• Good hold on Entire life cycle of dashboard development, which involves, Requirement gathering, Data sourcing, Data Modelling, Dashboard, BI Reporting, Testing, Deployment, Production Support, technical documentation & Maintenance.

Qualifications / Competencies

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related field
• Microsoft Power Bi certification - Advantageous.
