Duties and Responsibilities
Specifications:
Must be able to read and understand painting specifications.
Paint Mixing:
Collect paint at paint store. Ensure that mixed paint is correct according to master spray out in the storeroom and to the desired color and consistency according to specifications. and consistency according to specifications for the applicable job at hand.
Surface Preparation:
Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming them to ensure proper adhesion of the paint. Surfaces must be clean and without oil and welding spatters. All surfaces must get a primer coat. Before the final coat of paint is applied, ensure that sandpaper is used to make the surface a little coarse.
Spray Painting
: Set up and operate spray equipment including guns, compressors, and other machinery. Applying paint evenly and smoothly using spray guns or other appropriate equipment to achieve the desired finish. Monitor drying times and conditions to prevent defects like runs, sags, or uneven coverage.
Equipment Maintenance:
Cleaning and maintaining spray painting equipment to ensure proper functioning and longevity. Clean all painting equipment and ensure cleanliness of spray booth.
Housekeeping:
Cleaning and maintaining spray painting equipment to ensure proper functioning and longevity. Clean all painting equipment and ensure cleanliness of spray booth.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Completed Matric (beneficial)
Completed Trade Test (beneficial)
3 years experience as Spray Painter
Must be available immediately
This will be a month-to-month contract.
