SUMMARY:
We are recruiting on behalf of a client for a Specialist Network Engineer to join their Strategy Enablement and Modernisation division based in Pretoria.

We are recruiting on behalf of a client for a Specialist Network Engineer to join their Strategy Enablement and Modernisation division based in Pretoria. This role requires a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in Cisco Routing and Switching and Cisco ACI infrastructure, who thrives on delivering secure, reliable, and efficient network solutions in a dynamic environment.
Key Duties:

• Design, implement, configure, and manage secure and scalable network architectures (LAN, WAN, Wireless, Cloud)
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues using specialised tools and techniques
• Maintain and optimise Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), Nexus platforms, and related technologies
• Apply security protocols and monitor network performance to ensure system stability and reliability
• Coordinate and support IT infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing telecommunications systems
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve faults and improve service delivery
• Produce and maintain knowledge articles and documentation for network domains
• Mentor and assist senior network engineers and peers
• Ensure compliance with governance, policies, and organisational standards

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in IT with 5-7 years' relevant experience, including 2-3 years at specialist level OR Senior Certificate (NQF 4) plus relevant IT certifications and 5-7 years' IT experience at specialist level
• Proven hands-on expertise in Cisco ACI design, configuration, and troubleshooting (Center ACI Implementation Certification advantageous)
• Strong experience in Cisco Routing and Switching with CCNP or CCIE certification (Data Centre and Networking) highly preferred
• In-depth knowledge of routers, switches, Wi-Fi access points, network management systems, protocols, and OSI model
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive approach to continuous learning and improvement
