Position Title

Specialist, Management Accounting (Fixed Term)

Position Overview

This position will be responsible for ensuring that the regionsxe2x80x99 management makes well informed decisions to ensure future stability, growth, and profitability. The incumbent is concerned with analysing operational and production costs, making recommendations to improve financial efficiencies, and providing input into overall financial strategies.

Primary Responsibilities

This role is accountable for:

Perform Budgeting Planning and Forecasting
  • Prepare periodic budgets and plans for the location (site).
  • Prepare periodic forecasts for the location (site).
  • Perform product cost planning forecasts and budgets.
  • Perform cost estimates.
  • Engage with stakeholders around budgets and costs.
  • Provide support to various departments & ensure accurate and timely cost variance reports and analysis as required by the business to enable them to manage their cost targets.
Cost Accounting and Control
  • Accurate accounting for costs through transaction recording.
  • Accruals and reallocations.
  • Recording & reconciliation of process chemicals, other variable costs.
  • Accurate accounting for fixed costs including maintenance, supplies, rentals, etc.
  • Maintain Effective Key Controls.
  • Analyses and reviews company expenditures, confirms proper allocation of expenses to the various departments, and reports to the various departments as necessary.
  • Provide Financial literacy to end users to enable the accuracy and completeness of monthly financial reporting (accruals, provisions, OPEX vs CAPEX).
Financial Expert Primary Support on Cost analysis, Variance Analysis and Financial Support for Unit Operation
  • Primary partner for financial partner for the unit operation assigned operations, procurement and T&I teams, strong partnership with Operations Leads, Procurement Leads and T&I.
  • Preparation of cost analysis reports for Managers & Site Directors.
  • Cost analysis by cost centre, operational unit.
  • Support Tax dept by timeously submitting tax analysis.
  • Support Business Teams to track and realize our sustainability/cost targets.
  • Maintain Effective Key Controls.
  • Communicate in an understandable, supportive & influential manner to stakeholders to ensure they understand the financial processes.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Matric or Grade 12 (Mandatory)
  • B Degree in Accounting or Finance Related qualification NQF Level 7
  • Driverxe2x80x99s License (Mandatory)
  • 3-5 years prior experience in management accounting and financial analysis.
  • Experience in mining or manufacturing will be an added advantage.
  • Computer Literacy (Mandatory)
