To ensure Technical Safety and Quality of Aircraft and components maintained by SAAT in accordance with the applicable Regulatory Authorities, manufactures and SAAT policies and procedures. Improve safety, health and environment requirements. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that the department is kept compliant and abreast with international and local regulatory authorities.
Principal Accountabilities
Perform Quality Control inspections on Aircraft and/or Aircraft Components to meet Manufacturer's instructions, Customers and regulatory requirements:
Perform Quality Control inspections during the entire phase or range of aircraft or components maintenance, ensuring all requirements as specified by manufactures of aircraft and aircraft components are strictly adhered to.
Plan and conduct specific inspections to ensure airworthiness compliance to all Regulatory Authorities requirements.
Perform final Quality inspections on SAA and Third Party Customer Aircraft prior to close-ups and upon completion of all maintenance checks and final quality acceptance inspections as per customer requirements.
Perform and certify all inspection items as determined by National and International Aviation Authorities as well as customer requirements i.e. RII, DI and WI.
Perform inspections and evaluations of aircraft, components and structures for condition and airworthiness prior to lease or return to owner and/or for registration and de-registration with the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA).
As well as plan and conduct inspections to ensure airworthiness compliance to the required standards of the work instruction Manual-WIM.

Assist in all billing of contracted maintenance and over and above items is actioned produce reports to track operational performance as required
To enforce compliance to Quality Standards and Regulations in order to minimise SAAT's exposure to risk
Enforce adherence to all regulatory, safety and compliance requirements
Manage delivery of work in line with the relevant regulatory requirements and where required, put contingency plans in place to reduce risk for the organisation
Continually seek ways to improve performance, efficiencies and maximize the use of resources. Track performance, especially deficiencies, and put contingency plans in place to prevent a reoccurrence of the same deficiency
Manage the environment and keep it at the required standard of health and safety and comply with policies and procedures, as well as client SLA's
Oversee safety training and aware campaigns in order to ensure that staff are kept up to date
Create awareness to safety, health and environmental regulations so as to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
Participate in customer and well as aviation authority audits, to ensure that the department is not exposed to non compliance.
Maintain customer satisfaction at the highest possible level
Ensuring On time Performance
Ensure clear and correct information is communicated to all departments & stakeholders timeously.
Responsible for the maintenance of Shift reports
Carry out task delegated by the Line manager and the Senior manager Operations
Act as advisor to customer as per service levels at all times in accordance with applicable technical handling contracts and service level agreements paying special attention during AOG.
Qualifications & Experience
Grade 12 or equivalent
Relevant degree, N6, or equivalent plus 7 years' Operations Management experience (Of which 4 years in a supervisory position, 3 years in an environment with a large headcount with union involvement) These years of experience may have been gained simultaneously.
OR
Relevant diploma plus 9 years' Operations Management experience (Of which 5 years in a supervisory position, 5 years in an environment with a large headcount with union involvement) These years of experience may have been gained simultaneously.
OR
12 years' Operations Management experience (Of which 7 years in a supervisory position, 5 years in an environment with a large headcount with union involvement) These years of experience may have been gained simultaneously.
Knowledge and Skills
Comprehensive knowledge of Regulatory requirements. SACAA, EASA and FAA.

Knowledge of SAAT Organisation, policies and procedures
Industry Knowledge
Sound knowledge of AMOS and Impact, Excel MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and SAP R 3
