Europcar has an opportunity for a Graphic designer who is highly organized and driven to support the Marketing Manager with all the creative, branding and sponsorship activities within the marketing department. The role will be based in Bruma, Johannesburg.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic graphic designer who will manage and coordinate the visual design and illustration needs of Europcar and Tempest Car Hire. We're looking for a in-house creative, mid-level designer with strong conceptual ability and attention to detail to take ownership of our brand's visual presence. This includes both print and digital design across various platforms and campaigns. Experience in video editing or multimedia will be a bonus.

Specific Role Responsibilities
Digital Design Responsibilities
Design digital marketing assets such as:
oWebsite graphics
oGoogle banners
oEmailers and email banners
oSocial media content (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube)
oAnimated or interactive elements (e.g. using Adobe Animate)
Ensure all assets are optimised per platform specifications.
Support seasonal campaigns and digital promotions.
Collaborate with web developers to implement creative elements where needed.
Assist with digital copywriting when required.
Print Design Responsibilities
Design and layout of printed materials including:
oCompany stationery
oBrochures, flyers, and tender documents
oCampaign and promotional materials
oSignage (indoor and outdoor)
oCorporate profiles and product illustrations
Prepare artwork for print production, ensuring file accuracy, correct colour profiles, and format readiness.
Liaise with printers and external suppliers to ensure high-quality outputs.
General Creative Duties
Work with the marketing team to interpret briefs, brainstorm ideas, and deliver clear visual concepts.
Maintain brand consistency across all touchpoints in line with CI guidelines.
Present and explain design decisions to internal stakeholders.
Adapt designs based on feedback and evolving campaign needs.
Stay informed on current design trends and emerging tools or techniques.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Requirements:
2-5 years of experience in a graphic design role
A strong portfolio demonstrating a mix of print and digital design work
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Animate, Dreamweaver)
Competence in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Excellent layout, typography, and visual composition skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Understanding of marketing principles and campaign thinking
Knowledge of printing processes, paper stock, finishes, die-cuts, and formats
Creative problem solver with strong attention to detail
Minimum Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field
