Role Purpose/Business Unit:

Perform Capacity Forecasting and Planning for Core IP/MPLS Transport Network and Supporting Transmission Network. Perform architecture and strategy planning for Physical Tap and Aggregation infrastructure Strategy & Architecture design for Cloud Computing Applications supported by Core Transport Network

Your responsibilities will include:

Design, document and implement new network designs and solutions for stakeholder products and services requiring integration to Core Data Network according to Industry best practice Evaluation of new technologies ( IP/MPLS Traffic Engineering, SDN, IPv6 etc) with specification for local implementation Continuous evaluation of system design and performance management solutions for Core Transport Network Provide capacity and strategy input into Data Networks Planning team for Provider and Provider Edge Routing Network, Internet Gateway Routers and CPE Layer 2 Switches Provide high level support and guidance to a team of IP Operations Specialists Interface with Contractors and other divisions in Vodacom to overcome / solve data-related problems

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:

IP/MPLS, QoS, Software Defined Networking Software Development, OSI Layers, Cloud Computing in MNOs, Probing Systems and Applications. Ethernet and Packet based technologies Network Management

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

Matric essential 3 Year Degree Electrical/ Computer Engineering Engineering Degree preferred Cisco and/or Nokia IP Networks Certifications Minimum of 3 years' experience essential in: + IP Networking in a large Mobile Operator
+ Capacity Planning, forecasting and reporting
+ Vendor Relationship Management
+ Working across multiple teams
+ Presentation skills
